Long ago, there were sword masters who ran schools teaching the elite how to fight with a blade.  Since the introduction of guns, many of these ancient techniques and tactics disappeared... leaving only books and drawings to carry on the method of their art.  Recently, some of these texts have been translated from their native Medieval German language into English.  Now, our group of researchers and instructors are interpreting these techniques and movements into actual sword fighting skills!

Learn techniques that have been formulated by our own experts. Use foam padded swords to work on various strikes, parries and evasions. And then revel in the chaos of a practice battle, with teams of swordfighters dueling against each other!

FRISBEE GOLF (DISC GOLF) AND ULTIMATE FRISBEE

Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however players use a flying disc, or Frisbee®.  The sport was formalized in the 1970's, and shares with “golf” the object of completing each hole in the fewest number of strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, the fewest number of throws). A golf disc is thrown from a tee area to a target which is the "hole". The hole can be one of a number of disc golf targets; the most common is called a Pole Hole®, which is an elevated metal basket. As a player progresses down the fairway, he or she must make each consecutive shot from the spot where the previous throw has landed. The trees, shrubs, and terrain changes located in and around the fairways provide challenging obstacles for the golfer. Finally, the "putt" lands in the basket and the hole is completed.  Disc golf shares the same joys and frustrations of traditional golf, whether it's sinking a long putt or hitting a tree halfway down the fairway. (Excerpt from PDGA.com)

Ultimate Frisbee is an exciting, non-contact team sport, played by thousands the world over. It mixes the best features of sports such as Soccer, Basketball, and Football into an elegantly simple yet fascinating game.

Don Phillips is a veteran of the sport of Disc Golf and Ultimate Frisbee.  He is involved in teaching the sport to children around the state.
