Like most things at The MLDC, lunch is very different with our program. Parents have come to expect superlative standards in everything we offer and food is no exception.

During our first few years, we opted not to go the "cafeteria" route that is standard amongst camps that serve food. Instead we chose to wait until we could offer something that has more parental involvement, more nutrition and of course...more choice!

Option #1 - The MLDC has partnered with an organization that utilizes the same kitchens that prepare food for one of New England's most well known health market chains. With this option, parents can go online as early as four weeks in advance to view the selections and actually plan out the menu for each day! The choices are organic, nutritionally balanced by an expert and very flavorful. The menu for 2008 is described below and the the options are different everyday for two weeks before rotating:

Option #2* - For other parents who know that their children are looking for something more traditional, we have also partnered with our vendor at Mirror Lake. JCJ's Grill will provide some of the most common favorites that kids enjoy. The menu is as follows:

Monday........Deli turkey w/a bulkie roll, Danimals drinkable yogurt, Betty Crocker fruit roll-ups.
Tuesday.......Italian sub, Frito Lay Sun Chips, Dole fruit cups.
Wednesday....Breast of chicken wrap, Granny apple lunchable slices, Kellogg rice crispy treats.
Thursday......Ham and cheese sandwich, Snyder lunchable pretzels, Nature's Valley carrot sticks and dip.
Friday.........Roast beef sandwich, Frito Lay Doritoes, Quakers chewy granola bars.
*(If you need something simpler, bagels & butter will also be available each day for this option).

Drink options for both menus include ice-cold water, punch or lemonade. Both lunch AND TWO SNACKS are included in every child's tuition for our primary camps (for Mini-Marcus and half-day campers it is only an additional $25/week). All lunches are always nut-free and campers have the option of bringing their own if they still prefer mom's cooking.
