For many parents, this program will be their first foray into the world of summer camps and safety measures are paramount in their minds. When we designed this particular camp, we asked ourselves, "If a new parent moves into the area and knows nothing about us, how can we design this program so that the parent will feel relatively secure about their child's well-being?" We also wanted to create a program that sets a new standard for camps that serve this age demographic.

You can review our universal safety protocols by clicking here, however the measures below are exclusive to Mini-Marcus:

1. The numbers are dropped to a true 4:1 camper/counselor ratio (as with all MLDC programs, the ratios are calculated based on ADULT supervision and not junior counselors).

2. Although MLDC staffing is at least 18 years or older, the minimal age of a lead counselor for Mini-Marcus is pushed up to 20 years of age.

3. In all MLDC programs, counselors are CPR/First Aid certified, however the lead counselors for this camp are also trained lifeguards. This means that your child is not only looked after by other waterfront staff, but your child's primary caregiver will also be experienced with this form of additional training.

4. Each lead counselor has a phone with a number that YOU are given. Parents are allowed to contact their child once each day simply to say hello!

And now that your child is safe and sound, what of the curriculum? Many of the same resources that are used by our Junior Discovery program are also at the disposal of Mini-Marcus. Campers will be making arts & crafts projects such as pine cone bird feeders, stamp art, painting (non-toxic paints, of course!), doing sports such as soccer or t-ball or maybe using our waterslide on the hot days.

Mini-Marcus campers have periods that range between 30-40 minutes/period which means that their short attention spans are constantly engaged. The shortened periods allow for four activity periods during the half-day program and eight periods during the full-day. Each day will be a unique experience for these campers as they are guided through the individual activities with their respective counselors. Please also note that all Mini-Marcus campers must be potty-trained!

Dates and rates for this and all camps can be accessed via the link menu on the left or by clicking here. Our exceptional lunch program is also included with this camp.

Please bear in mind that if you would like to use our afternoon transportation services, the half-day program ends at 1:00 and the buses leave at 4:00, therefore your would need to be enrolled for the full day.
