Camp
Hours:
Camp hours are from 9 am to 4 pm daily. Morning drop-off begins at 8:45 am and the pick-up
line for afternoon dismissal begins at 3:45 pm. We expect campers to be
picked up by 4 pm.
On-Line Registration: We strongly
recommended registering your child via our
on-line service on this website.
The process has been designed for maximum
efficiency and security. Lunch:
The MLDC provides both lunch and a snack for its campers. All camps with the exception of Mini-Marcus and
our Half-Day campers include lunch with the tuition. Parents of half-day or Mini-Marcus campers may
choose to add the lunch option for an additional $25/week. To read more about our food offerings, please
click here. Extended Day: For an additional fee, children may attend a supervised extended day program. The program operates Monday through Friday,7:30 to 9:00am and 4:00 to 6:00pm (3:00-4:00pm for our Mini-Marcus Day Campers) Parents are responsible for transportation to and from extended day. A late fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged after 6:00pm. In the event of an emergency, children can be placed in extended day. An extended day rate of $10.00 per hour will be charged and will be billed directly to parents/guardians. If you are interested in our extended day program, please check the box on our Enrollment Form. Transportation: At an additional cost, we will provide bus or van service from designated pick up and drop off locations in over 24 surrounding communities. This is an optional service . All buses and vans will have a qualified monitor to assist campers and provide supervision. Please inform us if you would like to be included on our car pool list. Your name, address and phone number can be added to our database and shared with other camp families interested in car-pooling. Medical Information: Under Massachusetts State Law, each camper must have a recent physical and immunization form, signed by a licensed physician, on file prior to attending camp. At the Marcus Lewis Day Camp, we require each camper to have a physical dated within 1 year prior to admission. These completed forms must be in our files before your child can attend camp. All parents/guardians are encouraged to carry primary health insurance or medical coverage for their children attending camp. A registered nurse is on-site daily. Authorization forms are required for the administration of prescription or over-the-counter medications. All forms must be returned by May 15. Special Needs: It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to bring any special physical, medical, or behavioral needs to the attention of the camp director prior to enrolling their child in camp. This information will assist us in providing a positive experience for your child. Placement Requests: Each child may request ONE (1) friend of the same grade or age. We will pair friends together only if they appear on each other’s Enrollment Forms. Placement requests are not guaranteed, and are taken in the order they are received. Early enrollment is advised to insure grouping with a friend. The deadline for requests is May 1st. Behavioral Expectations and Discipline Policy: To provide a safe and supportive environment, we expect all campers to adhere to the rules of conduct established by the Marcus Lewis Day Camp. If discipline issues or concerns arise, the camp director will contact parents and discuss what steps need to be taken in order to rectify the situation. The Director, at her sole discretion, may withdraw any camper whose behavior violates the camp’s rules of conduct, infringes and/or interferes with the safety or rights of others. This includes behavior that is disruptive, inappropriate, or unsafe for themselves or others. Refunds are not available for children removed from camp for disciplinary reasons. Registration Policies and Fees: To register for any of our camp programs, please contact us to receive an enrollment form by mail or click here to register now. All registration forms must include a non-refundable registration fee of $200 per child, per session. This deposit will be credited toward your tuition balance. If registering prior to December 1st or after April 1st, please remember that the balance must be paid in full. Once your application has been received, you will receive a confirmation packet that contains all pertinent camp information. Final payments must be received in full by April 1st. If the full balance has not been paid, as of April 1st, campers will be placed on a waiting list. Campers registering after April 1st must pay the full tuition upon receipt of our confirmation packet. Individuals who have not paid their outstanding balance in full may not attend camp. A $25 fee will be assessed for any checks returned by the bank. For those campers placed on the waiting list, their deposit checks will not be cashed until the camper has been enrolled in our program. In the case that the camper is not enrolled, the uncashed deposit check will be returned. Refund and Change Policy: If a child decides not to attend the Marcus Lewis Day Camp after enrolling, a refund, minus the deposit, will be considered only if the camper can be replaced. All refunds will be made after the close of camp in August. No refunds will be made for failure to attend or incomplete attendance. An administrative fee of $100 will be assessed for any
decrease in the number of weeks a camper will be attending and a fee of
$50 for a change in the week(s) a child is
enrolled.* Receipts will not be provided until after all fees are
paid and a child completes the week(s) in which they are enrolled.
