Camp transportation is an important part of our program and safety is always our number one focus. We transport campers to and from camp each day and to various off-site activities on school buses driven by professional school bus drivers. In fact, The MLDC is the only area day camp we know of that actually owns its own buses! We also hire our own drivers and perform our own CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and SORI (Sexual Offender Record Information) background checks. Each bus also has camp staff riding with the campers from the first stop to the last.
Parents who may have concerns regarding the duration of the bus ride are often surprised at the efficiency of our planning from as far as our Belmont, Marlborough and Weston routes. Additionally, counselors are there to provide assistance to campers as well as to create activities and appropriate games that make the bus ride a fun part of the day. For those campers, camp has already begun! You may view a map to see your location relative to us by clicking here.
During the camp day, campers being transported to various activities are accompanied by their counselors. All staff on each bus are equipped with a cellular phone for communication purposes.
We provide bus service to centralized pick-up and drop-off locations throughout a variety of towns. The times can vary +/- 10 minutes depending on the week.
Below are our transportation rates by zones. If your town is not listed below, please call us for a quote. By clicking on one of the links, you will see exactly where we do our drop-off and pick-up. The “bubble” will display the area or organization associated with the stop and the green arrow will denote the exact location of where our bus stops. Bus transportation to and from camp is an optional service.
Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds for transportation due to route planning. If you are interested in utilizing our Transportation Service, you will be able to choose your options during the on-line registration process.
You may be wondering where the exact stop times can be found. We accept registrations throughout the summer, and our bus stop times are dependent upon the number of kids at each stop, and stops on each route. In order to give our families the most accurate times, we will send all registered riders a detailed bus schedule by the Friday before each camp week. You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn about stop time estimates to help with your planning.
If you are registering for the last week of camp during the summer, please bear in mind that camp ends at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, instead of 4:00 p.m., and that buses will be dropping your child off three hours earlier.
